The cast

Eliza Draycott
— Gravestone Girl
Twenty-one. Deathrock punk. Supernatural investigator. Skull camisole, platform combat boots, a bat pendant, and a face that reads younger than the armor around it.

Ember Kerrigan
— Mechanic
Curly red hair, band tees, ripped jeans and a tool belt. Kerrigan’s Auto Repair is the family shop, and it’s her territory.

The Mourner
— 1960 Cadillac Superior Crown
Eliza’s hearse, and a character in its own right. Watch for the tail fins. They give it away at a distance.
— First look
Into Black Hymn
Glimpses of the town, the cast and the look of the book. Finished pages arrive as Book One is drawn.

Built to the silhouette
Eliza’s design works like a system: a forward-leaning deathhawk, deathlocks cut at the jaw, a skull camisole, mid-calf platform boots with a silver skull buckle. Every character has to read at a distance before a single line of detail goes in.
